Police Arrest 16 During Immigration Protest

Rev. Arnold I. Thomas, Minister with Education at The Riverside Church, was arrested, handcuffed and taken to jail in Lower Manhattan along with Ydanis Rodriguez, New York City Councilman from District 10, Manhattan and Jumaane Williams, New York City Councilman from District 45, Brooklyn.

S.J. Jung, President of the MinKwon Center for Community Action in Flushing, New York, Bishop Orlando Findlaytor, Chair of Churches United to Save and Heal (CUSH), based in Brooklyn, Rev. Ian White Maher, pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Queens and Lisa Sharon Harper of New York Faith and Justice were also among the group of nine women and seven men.

The organizers plan more protests with calls for immigration reform in the coming weeks
