07/24/2010 - A memorial service for former Senior Minister, Rev. Dr. Ernest T. Campbell, is confirmed for Friday, September 10, at 11:00 a.m. in the Nave. Rev. Bob Coleman will officiate.

Dr. Campbell, a leader in theological education and social justice, died on July 9, at his home in New York City. He was 86.

Dr. Campbell's well received book, “Where Cross the Crowded Ways,” is available in the Visitor’s Center. It may be purchased in person, online on our website or by telephone at 212-870-6792.

07/22/2010 - On Tuesday, August 3, David Davies, Sub-Organist, Guilford Cathedral, United Kingdom, will perform works by Bach, Liszt, Elgar, and Hollins.

This is the last concert in this important series featuring music performed by a talented organist on the Church’s 206-rank Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ, the second largest instrument in New York City, with over 12,000 pipes.

On Saturday, July 17, 2010, The Riverside Church HIV/AIDS Ministry held a Gospel Lunch and Concert supporting HIV/AIDS Awareness. Some Guests brought their best crown or hat and won a prize! Everybody enjoyed the music and praise.

On Wednesday, July 7, the Earth Institute's Center for the Study of Science and Religion (CSSR), The Riverside Church of New York, West Harlem Environmental Action Inc. (WeACt), Sisters of Earth, Faith Leaders for Environmental Justice, Green Faith, New York Faith and Justice and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine presented "Earth Democracy," with Vandana Shiva, philosopher, environmental activist, scientist, and author.

And above all, we need to subject the laws that govern production and consumption to the laws of Gaia; the laws of the planet.”

Irene Monroe, Coordinator of the African American Roundtable of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry (CLGS) at the Pacific School of Religion. It was an inspiring worship on PRIDE Sunday.
