Special Meeting of the Religious Corporation

The Call to A Special Meeting

As required by the Religious Corporations Law of the State of New York, notice is hereby given to full members over the age of 16 of the Religious Corporation of The Riverside Church in the City of New York of a Special Meeting of the Religious Corporation to be held on Sunday, April 29, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the South Hall of the Church, 490 Riverside Drive.

Article X, Section 4 of the Bylaws, reads in part:

“ There shall be a Senior Minister Committee of the Religious corporation. When the office of Senior Minister becomes vacant, the Committee shall propose a search committee for approval by the congregation, the members of which shall be full members of the congregation, to assist the committee in identifying candidates for Senior Minister.”

In accordance with this provision, the Senior Minister Committee offers this resolution for adoption by the Congregation as the first item of business for this meeting:

Resolved: The Congregation of the Riverside Church approves the appointment of a Search Committee to assist the Senior Minister Committee in identifying candidates for the office of Senior Minister. The Senior Minister Search Committee shall be composed of the following persons:

The second item of business shall be the presentation of the amendments to the By-laws of the Riverside Church in the City of New York proposed by the By-laws Committee and the revisions to those amendments proposed by members of the Congregation. This will be the first reading of the proposed amendments. There will also be a vote on whether to adopt revisions proposed by members of the Congregation.

A copy of the By-laws Committee’s proposed amendments and the revisions to the amendments proposed by members of the Congregation will be available immediately following the service in the vestibule and at the By-laws table at Coffee Hour. There will also be copies available in the Church Library. Finally, you may obtain a copy by sending an email to bylaws@theriversidechurchny.org.

Childcare will be provided.
