PRESCHOOL
“Children are the messages we will send to a time we may never see.”

Children and families are the mainstay of our growing congregation:

• We seek to promote spiritual stability within our families - by immersing our children in an enriching educational environment that is steeped in solid biblical teachings.

We are committed to modeling Jesus Christ and sharing the gospel through:

• The consistent, nurturing interactions of children, teachers and staff in classroom teaching, in praise and worship and activities that unite us with our neighbors and commjnity.

A Special Message To Our Parents

Children from birth are a part of regular Sunday Church School here at The Riverside Church because they need the nurturing and positive spiritual direction and nourishment this provides in their lives. Regular attendance in Sunday Church School for our children provides uninterrupted spiritual time for parents; a time for refreshing and renewal.

More than ever before our children neeed encouragement, guidance and positive reinforcement as they grow and begin to establish their own Christian identity.

In our society with all its distractions we are called to be Christ-like in all our actions and in myriad situations. Our faith is being tested in Church, at home, in school at work and especially when making recreational and entertainment choices. Being part of a larger family of Faith reminds us that we are not alone in our beliefs or values.

As the most important Role Models in your child's life it is up to you to encourage and direct your child to the family of faith. If you child sees you coming to Church, then he/she will understand that praying and going to Church are things that you do together as a family. If you make prayer a part of your life, then so will your child. If you bring God into your home, then God will be more readily known to your family.

TEACHERS:
Our teachers are nurturing, spiritually committed volunteers who will be required to have a background check and be finger printed before interacting with our children. We meet regularly as community for training and curriculum updates. Riversiders who are interested are welcome to call for information about volunteer opportunities in the children and family ministries. If you are interested in teaching please contact Dr. Ernestine Galloway at 212.870.6867.
